Ingredients
For the batter:
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. cornmeal
1/2 cup soda water
1 quart water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. Kosher salt
Frying Oil
8 oz. BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella, Prosciutto and Basil Roll cheese, sliced 1/2 inch thick
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Directions
Combine 3 1/4 cups flour with cornmeal, soda water, water, baking soda and salt to form a batter.
Heat your preferred frying oil in a deep pan to 350˚F. Lightly dredge the cheese in 1/2 cup flour, then dip in batter and place gently in hot oil. Cook until light golden brown. Remove battered cheese from oil and rest on a paper towel to help absorb the oil for about one minute. Serve immediately with spicy marinara sauce, if preferred.
