Pizza Bombs with Marinated Fresh Mozzarella Basil & Garlic

Ingredients

  • 1 uncooked pizza dough, room temperature
  • Flour, for dusting
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, or homemade
  • BelGioioso Marinated Fresh Mozzarella Basil & Garlic cheese, reserving oil from the cup
  • 5 oz mini pepperoni slices, if desired
  • ¼ cup BelGioioso Grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 400˚F.

On a lightly dusted surface, divide pizza dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten into a small discs, about ¼ inch thick and 5 inches in diameter. Spoon about 1 Tbsp marinara sauce onto each disc, leaving ½ in all around edge.

Add one piece Marinated Fresh Mozzarella cheese to the center of each disc. If desired, add 1 to 2 slices of pepperoni. Gather 4 sides up and into center to form a small pocket. Use you fingers to crimp openings to seal. Roll gently between your hands to reshape ball. Place balls seam side down on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Brush with reserved marinated oil and bake for about 16 minutes, until browned and gooey. Remove from oven, brush with oil again, then top with grated Parmesan and serve.
